Occulights and Ubiqisense Announce New Integration to cover larger rooms and better analytics.
Occulights is excited to announce a new integration with Ubiqisense, enabling organizations to combine Ubiqisense’s occupancy intelligence with Occulights’ smart Light Indicators.
Through this integration, Ubiqisense sensors can now directly trigger Occulights lights, making it easier than ever to visualize room occupancy and availability in real time.
This is particularly valuable for larger meeting rooms, training rooms, and collaboration spaces where traditional occupancy sensors may not always provide the level of insight required. By leveraging Ubiqisense’s GDPR-compliant occupancy intelligence, organizations can now use Occulights lights in a wider range of spaces while maintaining a seamless user experience.
The live occupancy data that drives the Occulights indicators also flows into the Ubiqisense platform, a web-based analytics layer that transforms real-time space data into strategic intelligence. Facility and workplace teams gain a complete picture of how their buildings are actually used: live room status and occupancy patterns, space efficiency metrics, heatmaps showing where and how intensively spaces are used, and AI-powered recommendations that surface concrete opportunities to optimise how space is allocated and designed. Data can also flow into existing systems through Ubiqisense’s open API, MQTT, and BACnet integrations - enabling direct connection to building management systems for automated energy and environmental control.
A meeting room designed for 16 people may consistently be used by only 4 attendees. With live occupancy data combined with visual availability indicators, organizations gain a clearer, more honest picture of how their spaces are actually used, and the confidence to act on it. Multiplied across a building or an entire portfolio, these insights help organizations reduce real estate costs, right-size their estate, improve workplace experience, and support ESG and carbon-reduction goals through evidence-based facility decisions.
“Buildings should respond to the people inside them. Not the other way around. Integrating with Occulights means the same data that tells a room’s light to turn green also tells an estate director which spaces are genuinely worth keeping. That’s the kind of intelligence that moves organisations from assumption to action.”
— Palle G. Dinesen, CEO and Founder, Ubiqisense
The integration further strengthens Occulights’ commitment to being an open and flexible platform. Through Open APIs, customers can combine Occulights lights and sensors with workplace applications, booking systems, and occupancy technologies that best fit their environment.
“We are seeing increasing demand for flexible workplace solutions that can integrate with a wide range of technologies,” says the board of Occulights. “The partnership with Ubiqisense allows customers to leverage advanced occupancy intelligence while continuing to use Occulights as their visual occupancy and availability platform."
Together, Occulights and Ubiqisense help organizations create smarter, more efficient workplaces by combining occupancy visibility with accurate real-time intelligence in a privacy-conscious way.
